Meet the founder

Loreta Doga

RN-BN · Registered Nurse & Psychotherapist · Founder of UMatterCare

Loreta Doga founded UMatterCare on a simple belief: real healing has to account for the whole person — mind and body together. She is a Registered Nurse (RN-BN), regulated by the College of Nurses of Ontario, and a practicing psychotherapist — a combination very few therapists bring into the room. With over 11 years of clinical experience, she leads UMatterCare's approach to mental health and addiction care across the Greater Toronto Area: holistic, personalized, trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based methods. We care because you matter.

Very few therapists are also nurses. Loreta is both — so care here understands the whole person: mind and body, in one room.

Why a nurse who is also a therapist

Most therapy training focuses on the mind. Most nursing training focuses on the body. Loreta trained in both — so when something in a session points to a physical or medical dimension of what you're carrying, she recognizes it, and when the deeper work is psychological, she has the clinical depth to go there too. It's whole-person care, in one room, from one person who understands both sides of it.

Over a decade of hands-on care

Loreta brings more than 11 years of clinical experience to UMatterCare, working with individuals, couples and families through some of the hardest chapters of life — anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and substance use. Her approach draws on proven, evidence-based methods, including CBT and DBT, adapted to fit the person in front of her rather than a one-size-fits-all program.

Recognized for excellence

In March 2025, Loreta received the Excellence in Healthcare Award at the Health 2.0 Conference in Las Vegas — recognition for the kind of nurse-led, whole-person mental health care she has built UMatterCare around.

Her approach

Care with Loreta is holistic, personalized and trauma-informed. Sessions move at your pace, draw on evidence-based practice, and treat you as a full person — not a diagnosis. Whoever you are, whatever you're carrying, you matter here.
